Additional Bible Studies

Wednesday Evenings @ 5pm: Genesis (Meets in Mary Lawrence Hall).

Wednesday Evenings @6:00pm (September - April) FOR 6-7th GRADERS: Youth catechesis/instruction in the Lutheran faith. This class is intended for those youth who are intending to confess their faith publicly during the rite of confirmation. In order to say, "I'm a Lutheran," we want our youth to know exactly what that means!

Wednesday Evenings @ 7pm for YOUTH/YOUNG ADULTS: All 8th grade through college age students are invited to gather together for study of God's word that talks about what's going on today and how God's word applies to it all. We study the current issues facing us and our culture from the perspective of the Bible and our Lutheran Confessions. The meeting takes place every Wednesday night at 7pm in the youth room.

Adult Catechesis (Instruction) in Lutheran/Scriptural Teaching is available by appointment with the pastor. This type of study is perfect for you if you're interested in learning what Lutherans believe. It's also a great refresher for current Lutherans!

***The times listed above for our weekly studies is altered during Advent or Lent. If you have questions or would like to double-check, please contact the church office at 850-438-8138 between 8am-12pm Mon-Fri.

Monthly Studies

1st Saturdays @ 10:00am: "C.S.I. Pensacola." Confessional Sisters of Immanuel Pensacola is not a crime-scene drama. Instead, this is our Women's group that gathers to study the Book of Concord to learn more about what we believe as Lutherans and how our beliefs are founded upon Holy Scripture alone. The study concludes at noon with an option to go to lunch and share in Christian friendship with one another. (Meets in Church Library).

2nd Saturdays @ 10:00am: "Confessional Lutherans Training Group" (a.k.a. CONLUTRAGRU). This is a men's group that meets with the men from Redeemer Lutheran Church to study the Book of Concord, which explains the doctrines of Holy Scripture. The study concludes at noon. All are welcome to lunch at a local restaurant for hearty discussion and beverages. Due to our joint meetings, we rotate our location between Immanuel and Redeemer. Please use the "Contact Information" link and contact us to find out the location for that month.

1st Mondays @ 10:00am: "The After Life." This is a group for those who have been bereaved of a spouse. We are comforted by God's word and the mutual conversation and consolation of our brothers and sisters in Christ. It's important to be encouraged AND to encourage others in our Christian life together. Please note: The April meeting will take place on April 22nd at 10am.

Additional Worship Services

Evening Prayer

Private Confession & Absolution

This gracious gift is available on Thursday afternoons from 4-6:15pm OR by appointment with the Pastor. If you have questions about this practice, we kindly suggest that you please reference the Book of Concord, especially the Small Catechism on Confession, the Augsburg Confession Articles 11 and 25, and the Smalcald Articles Part 3 Article 8. The Book of Concord may be found online and there is a link given to it under the "What We Believe" tab. The manner and theology in which we practice this as Lutherans is very distinct and different than the Roman Catholic Church. Never is private confession a matter of coercion or obligation.
